You’re already judging hipsters, so make it a game with Hipster Bingo iPhone app

We’ve all spotted “that guy” at a concert. You know, the one wearing the shirt of the band he’s there to see. Maybe that’s cool now and I missed the memo, but either way, you’re probably judging everyone for something. Why not make a game of it? Developer Ben Hine did, and decided that hipsters and their non-conformist ways are the perfect target in the app Hipster Bingo, for iPhone and iPod Touch.

The free Hipster Bingo isn’t a robust app, but I found it worthy of at least a few laughs. When you start a new game, Hipster Bingo randomly plots a 5-by-5 card with stereotypical hipster paraphernalia, with a lovely rainbow unicorn taking center stage as your free slot. You’ll want to keep your eyes peeled for things such as fanny packs, wizard beards, ringmaster moustaches, PBR, pit bull puppies and, of course, Bill Murray.

When you spot something on your chart, tap the square and snap a photo (or upload from your library). If you allow Hipster Bingo access to Facebook, the app will automatically upload the image to your wall. If you don’t want the app to post to Facebook, expect to tell the app “no” every time you fill in a square — annoyingly, there’s no way to disable the option entirely. Although the card generates randomly, I’d love to see more hipster icons added (it seems that the app only offers the standard 25) to mix up your results even more.

Even though there’s not a whole lot to Hipster Bingo, if you live in a land of too-small sweaters, skinny jeans and non-prescription eyeglasses, the app should more than pay off in entertainment value.
