Wifi2Hifi app uses wireless to send music from laptop to stereo

I enjoy all things wireless. In this day and age, when I have to transfer something electronically from device to device, I always wish that there was a way to do so simply by proximity. The physical plug or cord is such an unfortunate barrier that we’re still forced to use. To add to the increasingly used wireless technology comes Wifi2Hifi by Clever & Son ($0.99) — for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad running iOS 3.0 or later — a classy app for playing music on your laptop through your stereo system or headphones via your mobile device that is an excellent app to add to your repertoire of useful music tools.

There is, virtually speaking, nothing to this app. Tap the app, and you will see the splash screen and then the volume control knob with the transmission notification lights. There is a laptop counterpart to this app that’s required for use, but it’s all very lightweight. The app is packaged within a sleek presentation layer. Every interaction with this app is seamless and well-presented.

When I look at apps like this, I always wish there were more developers who truly respected the art and emotion that is tied to the use of Apple devices. I think this should always be respected and taken into account when creating an app that will be used on “magical devices,” such as the iPhone and iPad. Clever & Son have truly considered this when creating this app, and my hat is off to these developers.

If you have a use for, or an interest in, playing your music library through your device to your stereo or headphones, this is an app you should consider. I think it will improve your overall quality of life, and might even raise your standards on the look and feel of apps in general.
