In my career as a public relations professional I have to stay organized, up to date with social media and remain current on news in my industry. So to keep everything together I use iPhone apps that can be accessed from either my desktop or my iPhone 4.

AwesomeNote

AwesomeNote was suggested to me by a friend who found it through Chalene Johnson and her 30-day organizational challenge. Awesome Note is, well, awesome. I use it to keep all my to-do lists organized. I have a list for everything: home, work, my blog, someday and shopping to name a few. You can make your lists as detailed as you like. You can even create a quick memo and go back and organize it later.

This handy little app also syncs with Google Docs and Evernote so that all my stuff can be accessed at anytime.

Hootsuite

I use Hootsuite primarily for its scheduling capabilities. In public relations, Twitter and Facebook posts have to be strategic and Hootsuite makes it easy to plan out these posts. The app has “pending tweets/post” columns so that it is easy to see and edit my scheduled posts. My boss can even go into our shared account and see my scheduled posts, which makes approving them easier for both of us.

With my company I manage five different social media pages. Four Facebook pages and one Twitter account. When I cannot be at a desktop it is a huge time saver to be able to use Hootsuite to access and update all of our social media pages from one app.

Mobile RSS

Mobile RSS is the newest app I have found. I should have downloaded it a long time ago, because I have been using Google Reader for about a year now. At work, I put all the news I need to follow as well as the publications I use to get inspiration for blogs or Twitter and Facebook posts into my Google reader. Then I can access them anytime from my phone through MobileRSS. Simple, just the way I like it.

Since discovering this app I have managed to catch up with all the stories I have been meaning to read. When I am at lunch, stuck in a line or even when I am walking my dog, I always have something to read. I love this app!

Want to know something even better? Not only are all these apps accessible from your computer and your mobile device, they are all have a free version! Is there anything better?
