StumbleUpon for iPad needs to step it up

It’s likely that StumbleUpon for iPad (free) isn’t going to make current StumbleUpon users all that happy right off the bat, as the app is slightly buggy. Even after an update to fix the issue, logging in or signing up for a new account sometimes fails (it failed for me when logging in to my existing account and signing up for a new one. I had to close the app and start over in each scenario, and then it worked).

Sometimes what’s stumbled seems to be outside of the chosen category.

However, this is a good start (it’s free, after all). Stumbling is accomplished with the tap of the Stumble! button, and giving a thumbs up or down is also a quick tap. Websites stumbled upon can be shared via Twitter, Facebook or email, and can be opened in Safari.

A tap on the house takes you home to the “Recommended for you” screen, which shows thumbnail shots of recommended stumbles, as well as a list of various categories. Also, a recent update brought “Favorites” to this home screen as well—anything “liked” is added to Favorites automatically.

StumbleUpon for iPad, though it can be a little slow and slightly buggy, is a great way to find websites that might interest you, just as StumbleUpon.com does on the Web.
