Streamified iPhone app is meant to simplify your social life

My social networking habits ebb and flow. Although I check Twitter and Facebook daily, LinkedIn only gets my attention sporadically and Tumblr? As of now, I haven’t visited in months. That’s why the visually-appealing Streamified caught my attention.

Streamified, a universal app, lets you manage multiple social streams in one place. The app has dual support for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Tumblr accounts. You can view posts from these sources in once stream—allowing you to read all information at one time—or view as individual streams by swiping right through the app’s screens. Each stream features network-specific functionality. This means you can like a Facebook post or retweet something from Twitter all from within Streamified’s confines. You can also reply to posts or bookmark them, which will move the content to a new stream and makes it easy to keep favorites together. Users can also post directly to their connected social networks via the app by simply toggling which networks they do or do not want to post to.

Streamified has a Path-like feel to its design, specifically in its pop-up time/date bubble. I definitely prefer the app on iPad, simply for its larger real estate, but the app works fairly well on the iPhone 4. Because you don’t have to create a Streamified account to use the service, you will have to set up each app version individually. Overall, the ‘refresh’ feature is really the only portion of the app that felt sticky—I had to give the screen a long pull to get the content to update. Because content doesn’t update automatically you’ll be using this function often. It’s also worth noting that sometimes the refresh lagged and refused to pull in items newer than five minutes ago on a few occasions.

Probably my favorite feature of Streamified is the fact that you can pull in other subscription feeds. Although you can’t post to these options, adding feeds from Pinterest, Reddit or Google Reader, among many others, can only help you stay on top of your regular reading.

Streamified is free.
