Whether the SI swimsuit issue has lost its culture cache, what with the market on gorgeous women in bathing suits so heavily covered these days, is a debate for a different time. As an app of minor-titillation, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2012 delivers the goods, for the most part.
The multimedia content in the app is divided into easy to understand sections – one with a listing of the models, another with photos organized by location, another for videos, another for body paint photos, and one specifically for model Bar Rafeali.
Each section has a handful of photos you can view once you’ve downloaded the app. And the photos are all contained within the app, so if you lose your Internet connection but still want to show off the pictures, you can do that.
Paying an additional $6.99 for the “premium” version of the app unlocks the rest of the photos and videos. There’s no official count of how much content that actually is, but as a guess I’d say you’re looking at at least 100 more pictures and dozens of short video clips. As a bonus, if you already subscribe to SI magazine itself, you’ll get that premium app content for free.
Whether looking at photos of gorgeous women in bathing suits is worth it is largely in the eye of the downloader. But if that’s your main game plan, it’s clear that Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2012 does a good job of providing the material.
