Solid graphics, mechanics make Labyrinth Lite iPhone game a winner

As a kid who played with a few Labyrinth puzzles back in the day, I can safely say that I never played any as cool as the ones found in the Labyrinth Lite Edition.

Lite Edition is the free version of the paid Labyrinth iPhone game. While the paid app has roughly 1,000 different puzzles to play, Lite Edition has only 10, but they’re a very fun 10. Each puzzle involves the user maneuvering his iPhone as if it were the 3D representation of the labyrinth on the screen. You’ll move your phone right to avoid a dangerous hole on the left side of the path and push it forward to go on a faster slide towards the far end of the puzzle; vice versa to go backwards.

The mechanics of the game are easy to pick up, and the 10 puzzles increase gradually in difficulty, so that although the 10th is much harder than the first, you’re fairly well prepared for the challenge by the time you get there.

Visually, there isn’t much to look at in Labyrinth Lite Edition. That said, and this is not tongue-in-cheek at all, the marble you are rotating all over the place does look especially nice. It’s about as visually satisfying shiny marble as I’ve seen in an app, even if that is an odd thing to type.

Lite Edition is an easy purchase to make. It’s fun, free and will let you see if you’d like to get the paid version along with the rest of the puzzles. Pro tip: you probably will!
