Solid forum app could pave way for future apps

There aren’t many web pages more unwieldy on an iPhone than a forum. Reading one involves a lot of patience and constant resizing and scrolling in order to view entire posts, not to mention the irritation that comes when you have to view the next page in a thread of posts.

GameOn Forums Gaming Community app aims to make the whole process streamlined by bringing the forum directly to your phone in app form. Posts are easy to read, and as a bonus, you don’t have to register to view the forum. Only registered users will be able to communicate via private messaging, but if you’re just looking to kill some time reading about video games, you’ll be good to go anonymously.

In the case you’re new to GameOn’s forums, you’ll probably find the search feature handy. It allows you to see what discussions have taken place on some of your favorite subjects, or whether anyone has already made a topic you were thinking of working on.

The rest of the forums are organized into easy-to-understand categories for both gaming and non-gaming interests. The ease with which you can view this app is almost jarring when compared with the frustration of reading a forum using Safari on the iPhone.

It’s unfortunate there isn’t an app that would do the same for all web forums, but if you have an interest in a video gaming community, it’d be hard not to be impressed with the GameOn Forums app.
