Smoggle Smash – Cuteness & Conservation

Smoggle Smash is a tower defence game that aims to support local park initiatives through shooting your enemies and exploring all around you.

In Smoggle Smash you need to protect your civil centres from the oncoming monsters using towers that fire continuously. The monsters are very desperate to destroy safe conservation, it seems.

Smoggle Smash isn’t just a simple tower defence game; any ads you watch or money you spend in the game goes directly to supporting the SmashParks conservation initiative. Activities and further expansions to Smash Parks will be entirely determined based on the monetary results of Smoggle Smash.

Included in this is the ability to earn exclusive naming rights to new parks and activities based on scores and amount spent in game. This is kind of dual reality experience is something that lots of games are attempting to include – the ability to tie in-game progress directly to real-world results means a lot more player interest and overall a better playing experience.

To explore new zones in the game you can explore it normally, allowing a timer to tick down. To avoid the timer, you can spend gems purchasable using real-world money, again directly supporting the Smash Parks initiative.

Now and again, instead of just hordes of monsters pouring down the lanes to be swatted by your towers, you need to defend yourself against massive hordes of monsters pouring from all sides. This invasion of smoggles ignores entirely your lanes and lovingly constructed towers, instead just flowing from every direction.

This serves a great purpose in introducing you to the Tapper element of Smoggle Smash; alongside your towers firing on the enemy, you can deal damage based on your screen taps, scaling up based on the upgrade level of your centre, itself upgradable based on the amount of map currently explored.

All this combines into an enjoyable tower defence / tapper game that is built around the key concept of preservation. Not only is this game enjoyable in its own right, allowing the player to continuously expand their playing area through exploration and advancement, but it directly benefits the SmashParks conservation initiative, itself protecting wildlife and the natural world around us.

That a game can so completely tie together both real world and in-game realities, as well as bring them together into a cohesive whole, is a testament to both Smoggle Smash and to gaming in general.

For several years now, the advancement of VR has been progressing to allow people to play games that influence the world around them. The first major game that manages this dual reality that didn’t have VR was Pokemon Go.

Now, with Smoggle Smash, players can actively work to make the world a better place, all while playing a fun little tower defence tapper game.
