Skies of Glory and other top Android Games of the Week

The Android-iPhone battle just got real, with SGN launching Skies of Glory on Android. Now, iPhone and Android gamers can play each other in real-time.  Deadliest Catch stayed ahead this week, as did Furry Legends bouncing platform game.

In the skies

SGN has taken mobile gaming to a new level with its Android version of Skies of Glory. With real-life terrain settings from WWII, the $4.99 game lets you battle other players in real time, even if they’re on an iPhone. The pilot shooter game tests your navigation skills, complete with accelerometer effects.

Critical Altitude is a great little game for Android standards, using 3D graphics and accelerometer features to race a hot air balloon. The longer you float, the harder it gets to avoid obstacles and other flying objects.  While priced a tad high at $3.99, the game introduces more aviation titles to the Android Market.

Adventure games

Bounce your fuzzy hero from platform to platform in Furry Legends.  The $1.99 Android game gives you level after level of adventurous challenges. Jump moving bridges, dodge falling objects and discover all the hidden gems available. Get a Furry Power speed boost and other perks to face the game’s more complicated obstacles.

Deadliest Catch is among the top Android games this week. Based off the popular Discovery Channel show, the $1.99 game takes you to the depths of the ocean, scooping up as many crustaceans as you can. The series of mini-games is worth checking out, in light of the show’s recent commemoration of Phil Harris.

Herobot is a fun little shooter game where you have to fight off enemy robots while keeping your pink “princess” robot safe.  For $2.22, the full version of the Android game has clean graphics, custom control options and a new take on a retro-style game.
