Shopping from the iPad: Don’t Mind if I Do

Nov 23, 2010

I’m not sure if I hate malls or people in malls around the holidays more but I do know I will be doing as much of my shopping online/through the iPad as I can.

Amazon Windowshop

very fitting name for this fabulous app from Amazon. Browse by department, add/buy items from your wishlists. View picture recommendations for you directly from Amazon. I bought a swimsuit last week, from my couch… it was awesome.

Zappos: Shop shoes & clothes. Fast & free shipping always.

I like to call Zappos the shoe haven… seriously soooo many shoes. What you might not know is Zappos has free shipping both directions (yep if you don’t like it they will pay to ship it back to them). In addition to shoes Zappos also has clothing, bags, beauty products and housewares. Ladies who like shoes… consider yourself warned you can spend hours flipping through pictures of pretty shoes.

Target for iPad

for starters this app has the famous Target Weekly Ads right on the home screen. You can shop and add to registries from the app. There’s also a fun “inspiration” page flipping magazine style catalog that lets you add items to your shopping list. In the setup of the app you have the option to “Set Your Store” to access local store specials as well. This weeks Weekly Deal “flyer” has all of the Black Friday deals you can add to your shopping list. From laptops to Barbies – Target probably has what you’re looking for. If you are feeling inspired you can create a whole list of your “Wants” and email it to someone from the app so they’ll know what to buy you.

eBay for iPad

for bargain hunters having this app could be dangerous. I think it’s easier to find things I didn’t know I needed from this app than it is from ebay directly. Browse by gift lists (gifts for him/her/kids) or of course a standard search by keyword.

Black Friday Ads is aggregating all of the major retailers Black Friday Ads – discounts from Game Stop, Sports Authority, Walmart, Home Depot, Dell, PetSmart… the list goes on. You can sort by offers available in store only or online only, by category of the product you’re looking for and add ads to your favorites to come back to later.
