Real-time search trends from Google, Yahoo, Bing and Twitter in one iPhone app

I found it extremely odd that the top 25 Google searches, at the time I wrote this, included Hoosier lottery, Indiana unemployment, Ohio unemployment login, unemployment.ohio.gov, Hoosier lotto and Indiana lottery. Is the Midwest depressed or what? Neither Yahoo! nor Bing! had any of these search terms in their top trends, so I’m going to go out on a limb and say the Midwest is hooked on Google.

This is just one of the revelations you can come to, by perusing the free SearchTrends iPhone app. It’s a very simple app that lists the real-time trending searches from Google, Yahoo and Bing as well as what’s hot in Twitter streams.

So this app is perfect for when you want to know what your colleagues will be talking about at the water cooler on Monday morning, especially if you didn’t have the time to read your morning newspaper.

I’ll definitely check it out before I run out to brunch with friends or to a lunch meeting for work, so I have the latest gossip to talk about with the girls and the latest news to impress my colleagues. If you are an info junkie like me, this free app is a must-have for your iPhone.
