Productivity app adds social features, and a new iPhone customer survey

Recently released productivity app Fitango has picked up an interesting social media angle with its latest update. Meanwhile, we finally find out once and for all (for right now anyway) whether Verizon iPhone customers or AT&T iPhone customers are more satisfied.

Sure it provides a workout plan, but who will lift these weights?

Tom Petty once sang “the waiting is the hardest part,” but for so many people, it’s the starting and the continuing that we find most daunting. Recently released iPhone app Fitango attempts to give you a little virtual push by providing “action plans” for all of your self-improvement goals.

Whether you’re looking to design a workout or learn a language, Fitango offers guides to help users along in their goals. Up until now, experts chosen by the Fitango developers designed these action plans, but as TechCrunch notes, that has changed with the app’s latest update. Although you’re still able to pay for the plans from professionals, you now have some free plans to choose from.

Those free plans come from other Fitango users, who can now submit videos and instructions of their own. This emphasis on community-based interaction is certainly a sharp contrast to the expert-to-user delivery system Fitango previously employed, but it seems like a promising new direction.

TechCrunch notes that the service has over 10,000 registered users, and although you can’t upload videos using the app version of Fitango, you otherwise receive the exact same access to it in the app that you would if you were checking it out on the Web.

Despite more dropped calls, AT&T iPhoners stand by their plan

Given the numerous issues AT&T (T) customers have endured with their iPhones, surely a survey that compared AT&T & Verizon customers’ happiness with their current phones would come in as a landslide for Verizon (VZ), right?

Well, apparently not. Mashable analyzed the survey as conducted by independent research firm ChangeWave that shows AT&T and Verizon customers equally as pleased with their smartphones. According to their polling, while 82 percent of Verizon iPhone 4 customers rated themselves as ‘very satisfied,’ 80 percent of AT&T iPhone customers surveyed called themselves ‘very satisfied’ as well.

This despite the rather unsurprising data later in the survey that indicates the AT&T iPhone 4 is dropping roughly 3 percent more calls than its Verizon counterpart. While this survey would seem to indicate that AT&T customers are apparent gluttons for punishment, the Mashable story does not go on to say whether either carrier’s customers would be open to switching sides given the opportunity.

One final interesting note that may give Verizon shareholders a bit of pep in their step indicates that of those surveyed who plan to buy one of the two iPhone 4s, 46 percrnt are planning on going with Verizon versus 27 percent with AT&T. The other 27 percent weren’t sure.
