NARR8 update (Free)

What’s it about? Read, watch and listen to motion comics on your iPad across a number of genres from NARR8.

What’s cool? NARR8 is an interactive content app that’s filled with stories across a variety of genres. Mostly it’s packed with “motion comics” – comics like you’d read in comic books, but with the addition of special effects, interactivity, motion and sound. The result is a hybrid that’s not quite animation, but not as static as traditional comics, bringing something dynamic to storytelling while maintaining a comic aesthetic. NARR8 also features social capabilities that lets you connect with comic creators and other readers. The latest update to NARR8 adds two new educational motion comics: Panda & Boom and Qumi-Qumi, for kids 2-6 and 8-12, respectively. You can also now use the app to create your own interactive stories.

Who’s it for? If you’re a fan of motion comics or want to create some of your own, try NARR8.

What’s it like? You’ll find more traditional comics in Comixology’s Comics app and Dark Horse Comics.
