New iPhone apps worth downloading: PeeqPeeq, Konvert, Giant Boulder of Death

PeeqPeeq is a great, innovative new app that simultaneously cleans up your email inbox while also creating a personal shopping catalogue for you. Sticking with the ‘practicality’ theme, Konvert is an excellent unit converting app with a wide variety of unit types to choose from. Finally, Giant Boulder of Death is the latest mobile outing from [adult swim], and it’s one of their best yet, with plenty of laughs to go around.

What’s it about? Have you ever thought it would be great to convert all the shopping email in your inbox into a sleek and stylish personal catalogue? RocketLaunch Inc. did!

What’s cool? Apps like this are why I love the App Store. Unique, novel, and practical ideas. This app serves the purpose of both letting you easily browse the dozens upon dozens of shopping adver-emails that we all get easily, while also automatically cleaning up your inbox by keeping those emails in an entirely different folder. You can shop by different items and categories, save items for later, discover new brands, and easily share good finds and deals with your friends. The shopping interface is reminiscent of Pinterest too, which is always a good thing.

Who’s it for? Shopaholics of all levels of severity and addiction.

What’s it like? For more stylish touch screen shopping, I’d check out Wanelo Shopping.

Konvert ($0.99)

What’s it about? A convenient new app for seamlessly converting units of time, distance, speed, temperature, and more.

What’s cool? The other reason I love the App Store is because of apps like this, which make menial tasks like converting units an afterthought and make it easier to cheat at life in general! Though there is no focus on different currencies like some other unit conversion apps, the variety of unit types available here on Konvert is pretty amazing. To list some I haven’t already, you can also convert data types, mass, pressure, and energy. The app itself needs some work in the functionality department. The interface is just a bit clunky, though nice looking. Once they make it a little less slow and a little more seamless, it’ll be perfect.

Who’s it for? Anyone who needs such a service. To put it more honestly, science students looking to take some shortcuts!

What’s it like? Converter Plus lets you do much of the same, but also includes currency converters. Converter is another solid option with variety.

Giant Boulder of Death (Free)

What’s it about? The name pretty much says it all. Cause as much mayhem and havoc as possible as a giant boulder… of death.

What’s cool? Structured like your traditional endless runner, such as Temple Run or Jetpack Joyride, but with a far more original concept, it’s up to you to ruin as much of the local mountain dwelling (Austrian? Swedish?) population as possible. The local military will throw giant spiked walls, mines, and even tanks at you, but not much can stand before your mighty heft. The blocky art style is hilarious and really stands out, the yodel laden soundtrack is equally hilarious, and things get exponentially crazier the more you play. Oh, and this is from PikPok and [adult swim], a pairing which has also brought us Velocirapture, Monsters Ate My Condo, and Robot Unicorn Attack 2. Download it.

Who’s it for? Anyone who wants an addicting, silly, ridiculously fun new take on an endless runner.

What’s it like? Another game that puts you in the angry role of a boulder is Indiana Stone: The Brave and the Boulder. For more general rolling fun, check out Katamri Amore.
