What’s it about? Use your iOS device’s GPS capabilities and Ketchuppp to find out when your friends are nearby and easily meet up with them.

What’s cool? There are some cool social networking apps out there that let users use location-based information to meet up with friends, but they’re usually reliant on an outside social network to work. Ketchuppp instead ties into your Contacts List and friends lists to allow you to tell your friends when you’re nearby, without necessarily invading your privacy, or theirs. The app gives you an update when friends are close so you can get in touch and meet up, but only gives out the information you choose. It also saves battery by keeping its GPS updates to a minimum, while still giving you reliable updates when someone you know isn’t far off.

Who’s it for? If you like leveraging you social networking connections into actual real-world meetups, Ketchuppp can help.

What’s it about? Turn your social networking check-ins and photos of your food into personalized coupons your friends can use at local businesses with Photopon.

What’s cool? Photopon looks to turn all those social networking moments, when you post pictures of your food or drinks or check in to places you enjoy, into ways for stores to leverage your positive experiences and for you to share them with others. The idea of Photopon is that you can turn your photo of a meal or a check-in into a coupon that others can use at that same business or restaurant. You can create personalized coupons and share the love, or just make “spoofons” that you can share with friends to goof off – and you can also use the app to make some money off your foodie Instagram photos, as well.
