Get in the holiday spirit with the family with Christmas: Starring You!, today’s first app worth downloading. The app lets users create their own holiday music videos by adding their photos to a pre-made animation, which can then be shared online across social networks. We’ve also got StayAtHand, an app that helps travelers find the hotel bookings they need for the prices they want. Finally, there’s endless runner Temple Run 2, which has just received a big update for the holidays that adds the ability to run as Santa.

Christmas: Starring You! (Free)

What’s it about? Create a Christmas music video that stars your kids with Christmas: Starring You!, which allows users to add photos of their kids to videos they can share online.

What’s cool? Christmas: Starring You! is the kind of video app that’s a lot of fun for sharing during the holidays, particularly when the whole family is in town. The app lets you create pre-made animated music videos, which feature a number of characters whose faces you can add using photos from your iOS device’s camera roll. You can watch the video you create in the app, and when you’re done, you can quickly and easily share it with others online through Twitter and Facebook.

Who’s it for? Christmas: Starring You! is particularly geared toward kids and families, but anyone who wants to make a video using their own photos should check it out.

Temple Run 2 update (Free)

What’s it about? Players tear through various locals in endless runner Temple Run 2, staying one step ahead of huge, angry apes that guard the temple from would-be tomb-raiding archaeologists.

What’s cool? Temple Run set the standard for third-person endless runners that use a behind-the-back perspective, and Temple Run 2 continues the tradition with a tight, fast-paced running gameplay. Players have to jump and slide over and under obstacles using touch controls, and avoid cliffs and other dangers by tilting their devices. You’ll also encounter power-ups that can allow you to run further and score higher, and coins earned along the way can be spent on new characters and other useful improvements. The latest update to Temple Run 2 packs several new additions, including a waterslide area, the ability to run as Santa, Christmas-themed artifacts, and additional objectives to work through.
