New Apps I’ve Discovered on Google+

Jul 13, 2011

I am kind of lucky that due to the nature of my (social strategy) job for a wonderful app discovery service I work for, I can justify a bit of hanging out on Google+. It’s for work research purposes…;-) It really is! This week I’ve found some amazing apps being talked about there by the early adopter crowd.

Look out Google+, this app makes it easy to organize your Facebook friends into groups.

The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore

Blends film and picture book into a new art form. The story of people who devote their lives to books and books who return the favor. Recently featured in The Atlantic and Fast Company. From award-winning author/ illustrator and ex-Pixar character designer William Joyce and co-director Brandon Oldenburg.

This app shows free educational videos from The Khan Academy, Salman Khan’s baby that aims to allow anyone to learn anywhere. They are actually working on a new iPad app that has not been released yet…when it is I will update this listing with the new app. Robert Scoble among others is a huge fan of the upcoming app. Keep your eye on it.

Sonar: Friends Nearby

If you are tried of yet another reason to sit at your computer way too long, get some actual F2F social networking with Sonar, which lets you connect with people around you.
