1. Tell us about yourself – where you live, your job, things you like to do.

I’m an app/game developer. I love all things Apple, — I think they have great design. I live an active lifestyle. I enjoy moderately difficult hikes to the summits of mountains (summiting), rock climbing, video games, my dogs and family.

2. Which iOS device or devices do you own?

I have an iPod Touch, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and iPad. I use my iPhone 4 the most. I will get an iPhone 5 when it comes out.

3. Is there a particular category of apps that interests you the most?

I like games and photography the most, but download apps from nearly all categories.

4. What are your top apps?

Pro HDR — a camera app that does HDR photography.

TuneIn Radio — a great selection of online music, great for the gym.

Mobli — an excellent social networking app to share pics and videos.

foursquare — because it’s fun checkin- in to places.

Nike+ GPS — useful to track hiking paths.

5. What apps are popular among your colleagues and friends?

Games apps.

6. Give an example of a time an app was truly useful to you.

Flashlight., the free app that lets you turn on your iPhone 4’s camera’s light was truly useful to me. I was stuck up on a mountain, I got lost and it became dark and I used the Flashlight. app to navigate my way down the mountain. There was no trail and I had no headlamp with me. I think i would have been stuck up on the mountain until dawn had I not used the app.

7. What other Appolicious members do you admire the most and why?

Agentcoco, lydia2 and sharakarasic — because they always find time to review apps and be involved with the community.

8. Do you have URLs you’d like to share?

Here is my About Me page, which lists all my social networks: http://about.me/mikeamerson

9. Anything else you’d like to share with the Appolicious audience?

I’m pretty busy as an independent developer, but I do like to stay in touch with the community and review iOS apps/games whenever I get the chance. I’ve been a game developer for about 10 years, working on art for games like Star Wars, and Call of Duty series. I became involved in iOS games in 2010. The games I’ve made are My Virtual Girlfriend and My Virtual Boyfriend. I love to hear subjective feedback, so please review them. I also have lite versions that are free downloads, if you want to check them out without having to pay the 99 cents.
