Learning Spanish?

Apr 28, 2010

Here are some apps to help you learn or brush up on your Spanish speaking skills.

Spanish Word of the Day

Bite size nuggets to fill your spare moments. There’s a simple spelling game included but you are on your own for pronuciations.

Spanish Translator and Dictionary – SpanishDict

This app has audio files so you can hear how the words are pronounced. It’s also predictive, so you can just type in the first few letters in either english or spanish and it gives you a list to choose from. There’s a guessing game and a phrasebook included too. This app gets an A.

Spanish Language Guide & Audio – World Nomads

This phrase book is geared towards travelers and will definitely get you in the mood for a trip.

Lonely Planet Travel Guides, Phrasebooks and Maps

Last time I checked, this app was free and came with a guide to San Francisco and a Mexican Spanish phrase book. Go figure. They’re both pretty good.

Telemundo San Fco/SanJose/Oak Noticias en español

When you’re ready to step it up a notch, check out Telemundo. Just make sure you have a good wifi connection. Univision has a pretty good app too.
