iPhone App Video Review: Springpad

With today’s immense transfer of information from photos to different web links, a number of different services have popped up to help make sense of it all. Apps like Evernote are a great way to clip ideas or thoughts you have for later viewing, but sometimes the organization isn’t all that great and the price tag can sting a little. Then there is Springpad.

While being similar to Evernote, the app actually provides even more of an experience than just a note taking app. Springpad uses a ton of different services to provide you with quick and easy access to the content you want to save.

Let’s say you find a movie you enjoy, you can easily find it by searching and letting the app select the most appropriate information to save, you can take a photo and tag it with some text, or you can even scan the barcode and let the app identify it. All of this is saved to an online profile which can be customized to your liking.

You can set up lists to organize your content, as well as use their robust privacy tools to make sure only the content you choose gets released into the wild. At the time of this review, the service was free and I hope that it will stay that way. As the service continues to add new features and interface with new products, it could easily become a part of your everyday life. Check it out.
