Cinematic games are starting to make their stand in the video game world with games like Uncharted for the PS3 leading the way. It was only a matter of time before Gameloft created their own version of the series and Shadow Guardian is the result.

The game is very near an exact duplicate of the popular PS3 series all the way down to the look of the main character. You’ll follow his misfortunes as he is forced to relive some of the more dangerous moments in his life.

The graphics look wonderful on the retina display and the controls work just as well. There is a full cover system implemented and the developers even added advanced maneuvers like blindfire to it.

For the most part, the game was really entertaining. It occasionally grew repetitive with multiple battles against the same enemies, but it changed up the formula frequently with some climbing sections, among others.

The story never truly intrigued me, but it was all part of the complete package. If you like adventure shooters, this is one of the best I’ve seen in the App Store. Check it out.
