Just when we all thought the dual stick shooter genre had been worn into the ground on the iPhone, a new one is released that changes it all again. This time you are going to being playing in the future with a game called Revolt.

This small, independent game has already begun to gain some traction in the App Store and will no doubt continue to climb. The game features eight different story levels, and 20 different Survival Arenas. Unlike most dual stick shooters, Revolt offers more than just a run and gun experience. Players can dive-roll out of the way of enemy fire as well as upgrade their weapons using a points system. The game really challenges you to use the scenery as cover and manage your ammo closely.

The graphics in the game are awesome with some great lighting effects. The game ran smoothly while I played it and really did keep me coming back for more. The developers have quite the list of features they will be adding like multiplayer, levels, and even new character skills and abilities. There really is no reason to leave this one alone if you like the genre. Check it out.
