iPhone App Video Review: Puckerz!

The goal of the game is to shoot your puck around the level and collect a certain percentage of orbs. Anything under that percentage and you fail. Players can customize their puck to their liking, though the selection is pretty slim. It would have been nice to be able to draw my own puck.

The levels slowly introduce you to the various elements of the game, from the death traps to the multiple powerups available. You are in a race against time to complete these levels, but sometimes it was easy to stop strategizing my shots and just shoot it in random directions. Many times I found my puck bouncing randomly around hitting things and it became a little disheartening to try and smartly play the game.

The graphics are great in this app and the sounds fit perfectly. In fact, this is one of the smoothest playing games I have tried in a long time. But despite its great construction, I couldn’t help feeling like it was completely random and I quickly lost interest.

Overall, it’s a great game to do some random time-wasting but it doesn’t really offer enough of an experience to last. There are leaderboards, so hardcore players may want to check this out.
