Mushihimesama Bug Panic is a game created by the developers Cave Co. The game has recently seen much more attention thanks to Apple featuring it in the “new” section. The app is a dual-stick shooter with some interesting genres attached to it.

The point of the game is to bring peace back to the insect kingdom by bombing the insects who have gotten out of control. It plays extremely similar to many popular dual-stick shooters, but this one includes some interesting twists.

It has the feel of a Japanese RPG while challenging players to dodge an insane amounts of bullets in boss battles like a vertical shooter. The game is truly unique with some great gameplay that ran perfectly smooth on my phone. The graphics and music are done in the traditional RPG format, which was a refreshing change from the glossy graphics of today’s games.

It’s available for the iPhone only but with the recently added multiplayer mode and tight gamecenter integration, this game will be one to last for a while. There is a cheap, paid version and a free lite version to choose from, so definitely check this one out.
