iPhone App Video Review: Candy Train

The game puts you in a constantly moving train, where the only speeds are slow and fast, though it’s really more like fast and faster after a short while. You must rearrange the tracks in front of the train to keep it from crashing, and to collect delectable goodies that pop up randomly. To make sure you don’t just keep your train going on a loop, track tiles are constantly being switched up. This can lead to a tile in your path switching at the last moment and not leaving you any time to react, but that rarely ever happens.

As you pick up large pieces of candy, they are added to your train, making it longer and more difficult to maneuver. After a set number of carts are added, a train station will appear. You drive inside, and it eats all your cargo, literally.

The art and sound are colorful and whimsical, and really set the mood for fun. The game is really simple though, and I got bored exceedingly quickly. There are only two difficulties, and the expert difficulty is just way too hard. But on the other hand, I’m not into these kinds of games, and I’m sure many of you will disagree with me. Luckily, there is no harm in finding out for yourselves, as the game is entirely free. Check it out.
