When I first saw Bug Heroes and downloaded it, it really didn’t seem like much. In fact, I was pretty sure it was just going to be a sad attempt at bringing an old game to the iPhone or another dual-stick shooter. But what I did get was an amazing blend of different genres of games in a complete package.

Bug Heroes is more than just a dual-stick shooter, it is somewhat of a shooter, RPG, and tower defense mixed into one fun game. As you play, you have the choice to switch between three upgradeable characters. Each character has their own unique abilities to lend to the team. While you defend your food stash, you will also be able to place turrets to help and level up your bugs to get new weapons and abilities.

Bug Heroes is much more than a simple game and is definitely worth looking into. It still tends to be a little slow and the graphics don’t support the retina display, but the overall experience is pretty awesome. Check it out.
