iPhone app Ustream Broadcaster ready for prime time

The iPhone App Store is now approving video iPhone apps, like the Ustream Broadcaster (free).  What this means, of course, is that those of us who haven’t upgraded to a 3GS can now have video on our phones.  Yippee!

Ustream allows you to live stream video from your phone to the ustream.com Web site.  You can set the iPhone app to automatically tweet your Twitter account when you’ve begun streaming, or upload the video to Ustream, Facebook, Twitter or YouTube.

This makes it a snap to do a live v-cast and share it with every single person you know.

You also have the option of saving the video to your phone.

Listening to an awesome concert?  Share a song with the world (though, this is probably illegal; I’d check the fine print on your ticket stub first if I were you).  Watching your kindergartner in their first all-school holiday spectacular?  Share the event live with your family.  Run into a celebrity?  Stalk them and let the rest of the world watch them pump gas or buy a six-pack.

Video quality isn’t the worst I’ve seen.  The iPhone app does suck up battery life like a kid with a lollipop and your phone may get hot.
