If email, phone calls and text messages are not enough to keep you connected, then download the fring iPhone app (free). It is the ultimate, all-encompassing communications iPhone app that guarantees you will miss nary an instant message or a tweet.

To activate your fring iPhone app, you first create a basic profile with a username and password. From there, you can add all of the various accounts you have for digital communication, such as MSN Messenger, Twitter and AIM.

All contacts from the accounts are combined into one buddy list. Select a contact, and you are given the option to chat, ‘fring’ call (place a call over the internet) or video chat.

The call and video chat options don’t work for each account, but they do work for Skype and several other international Internet phone networks that are usable via this iPhone app.

As the iPhone camera is on the opposite side of the hand-held device, the video chat image only goes one way. In other words, the person on the other line has to be sitting in front of a computer with a Web cam for it to work.

Nevertheless, this iPhone app is a terrific product for someone with an immediate family member or significant other traveling or living in a foreign country. Who doesn’t love free international text messaging and phone calls?
