iPad App Video Review: Worms 2

Mar 21, 2011

Worms was a game that played amazingly well on the PC , but didn’t translate well to the iPhone. When I first played the original game for the iPhone it didn’t offer an experience I was hoping for and lacked some of the central elements that made the game such a hit on the PC. That game has since been updated, but along with it came a sequel, Worms 2: Armageddon.

The game features that same awesome art style as before, but this version offers some brand new weapons and a whole lot more customization. This new version brings a full single player campaign with multiple modes to play through. It also has a great multiplayer feature via both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The controls were still a little hard to get used to and many times I found myself accidentally jumping off a ledge or swinging in the wrong direction with the ninja rope.

Overall the game is a huge improvement over the first version and looks great on both the iPhone and iPad. There have been reports of Verizon iPhones having some issues, but I’m sure that will be patched in the near future. Definitely check this one out.
