iPad App Video Review: Jenga HD

Everyone is familiar with the classic tower game Jenga. The game is cause for many frustrated players and lots of unnatural concentration. In case you aren’t familiar with the game, your goal is to pull out pieces and stack them until one of the players makes the tower fall. It is a nervous slope to the inevitable end, but it’s an addicting one.

The game has now been released for the iPad and is the closest thing we’re going to get to the real thing on the device until they add a gyroscope. To play, you tap on the piece you want to remove and slowly drag it in a direction. While the physics were good, it definitely felt much tighter than the real thing.

While it’s not an ideal format for playing this game, the game itself is still a fun experience. There is a solo mode and even a pass-n-play for parties although I don’t see myself ever pulling this app out in a group.

Definitely check it out if you are interested but it’s a pass for me.
