Music lovers rejoice, djay has been released for the iPad. You may have seen videos of people using their iPads to make music and there have been a ton of different instruments to choose from. But djay sets the new standard for what can be done musically on the device. The app gives you turntables to scratch, mix and jam to the tracks in your iTunes library.

Load up two different tracks and you are ready to go. Whether you want to DJ a party and play continuous music, or try your hand at scratching, this app is able to help you get there. When I tried it out it was extremely daunting as I have no idea what I’m doing with turntables.

The software works excellently though, and it is obvious, even to a beginner like me, that this opens a lot of potential. The only complaint I had was the limitation as to what music I could use and the price. If you can get over those two things, you’ll have an amazing time with this app. Check it out.
