iPad App Video Review: BallFallDown

Mar 9, 2011

Occasionally it can be a really healthy thing to avoid anything with a goal or direction and just relax in creativity. This is concept behind one of the latest apps to hit the App Store. BallFallDown is a simple physics app with no objective and no levels aside from the ones you will build yourself

The app gives you the pieces and basically turns you loose to let you decide what to do. The main focus of the app is balls and there are a lot of different types. You can add various pieces that will affect where the balls will go and create some very interesting pieces.

Adding things like spouts and bumpers, you could even build a rudimentary game of your own. While this app does offer a lot, it did seem to be missing a certain amount of depth in creation that one would hope for.

This app would be amazing for children to mess around in, but I would think adults could benefit from a much larger toolset and more options for controls. Overall, the app was cheap and fun, it just seemed a little too simple to be something I’d keep on my device.
