With college football season and the NFL season underway, of course you are ready for some football! Nothing will prepare you for the pro football season like the league’s official app, NFL ’12. The iOS universal app delivers live scores and stats as well as the latest news from NFL.com. Fans of specific teams can customize the app to feature their favorite teams, and for a $24.99 onetime fee, users can get access to Audio Pass and follow games live. NFL ’12 also features a premium service for $9.99 that gives users access to in-app highlight shows like NFL.com Thursday Night Football Live and NFL Fantasy Live, in addition to video highlight packages.

College Football Radio & Live Scores (iPhone, iPad) $0.99

If college football is your game, but you don’t live near your favorite school, College Football Radio & Live Scores is a great app. College Football Radio has live radio broadcasts and podcasts for NCAA Division 1A teams. That means you can follow teams in the ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big 10, SEC, Pac-12, the MAC and more with ease. College Football Radio is also promising to add the 2012 team schedules in a future update, so you’ll always know the upcoming opponent.

Gridiron 2012 College Football Live Scores and Schedules (iPhone, iPad) $0.99

Gridiron 2012 is a great way to keep track of the NCAA football schedule. The app provides schedules for 124 NCAA schools complete with results as they unfold. It even has the 2011 schedule and results. Fans who want more than the week’s games can check out current conference records and the most up-to-date Top 25 ranking around. Gridiron 2012 even has seating charts at the ready in case you’re planning to attend a game.

ESPN Fantasy Football 2012 (iPhone) Free

What NFL season would be complete without a little fantasy football? ESPN Fantasy Football 2012 is ready to fulfill all your fantasy needs (as long as you play in an ESPN league). Users can make substitutions via the app or add and drop players at their leisure. ESPN Fantasy also includes FantasyCast Live Scoring so users will have current data on their weekly match-up. Personalized push notifications are also available  for injuries, last minute substitutions and scoring.

NFL Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet 2012 (iPhone) $2.99, (iPad) $4.99

Being a fantasy football GM is hard work, but the job is a little easier with NFL Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet 2012 on your iPhone. The app provides a number of features to keep you informed while you draft, including a deep customization system so players are ranked appropriately for your league’s scoring rules. You can also set starter position limits that are specific to your league and even keep track of your available budget if you’re drafting in auction format.
