Finally, the long slog of spring training is ending and the real baseball games, the baseball games that actually count, have begun. Whether you’re a big time fantasy player or you just like following your favorite team, there’s an app to enhance your experience this season. Below are five of our favorite apps to enjoy during the 2014 MLB season.

MLB.com At Bat (Free)

Still the king of official pro sports league apps, MLB.com At Bat is a must-own for serious baseball fans. The app is free to download and users can check scores and news for free. But the real fun begins if you choose to purchase the app’s video services (via either a $19.99 one time fee or a monthly fee of $2.99 for the duration of the season). With the additional purchase, users can stream games live or listen to radio broadcasts of any game in the league. MLB.TV Premium subscribers get access to all of the app’s features without any additional cost.

MLB.com At The Ballpark (Free)

MLB.com At The Ballpark gives fans an inside look at their favorite MLB stadiums. Users get exclusive ballpark offers and rewards, interactive maps, team schedules, ticket information and even the ability to order food and drinks at select stadiums. If that’s not enough, each ballpark has its own A to Z guide.

ESPN SportsCenter (Free)

Need a quick way to get vital news and scores? Check out ESPN SportsCenter. ESPN’s flagship app features scores for every game alongside breaking news and analysis of Major League Baseball. The app also serves as a notification center for any sort of alert you want to set for your favorite team and league.
