Google adds “sense and soul” to Google+ iOS app

Today, Google announced a significant update to the iOS Google+ app. A posting on the company’s blog showcases some of the changes to expect, and they are mainly aesthetic. They include crisper fonts, larger profile pics, and a more user-friendly home screen. Also, video playback has improved and your general Google+ stream should now be easier to browse with improved visual elements.

In addition, expect performance improvements, gesture controls and a slick, new look. Admittedly, Google’s blog posting is a little heavy on the rhetoric, but it seems the app is better than ever on iOS. Clearly, the company is making an effort to improve the Google+ experience for all its users, even on non-Android devices.

The Google+ app on Android already received a nice interface lift a few months back to fit the Ice Cream Sandwich theme, but Android users can expect a further update soon in line with the iOS offering, as well as “a few extra surprises.”
