Developer Booyah Inc. has an interesting idea — a free-to-play role-playing game in which you take on the role of a DJ battling other DJs for supremacy. It’s called DJ Rivals, and it’s today’s leading Fresh Game. We’ve also got the panda-blasting puzzler Land-a Panda, and the free astroid shooter Gunner Galaxies. Check them out below.
DJ Rivals (iPhone, iPad) Free
Grab DJ Rivals if you enjoy RPG elements and rhythm games, because that’s exactly what you’ll get. As a DJ battling other DJs to rise in the musical ranks around your city, you’ll customize an avatar and go into battle, in which the better your rhythm as you play a Guitar Hero-style music challenge, the more damage you’ll do to your rival and the quicker you’ll secure victory.
You’ll move through various environments, upgrading your character as you claim victory over your rivals. There are a lot of quests and battles to work through, and you can also take on other players using your Wi-Fi connection.
Land-a Panda (iPhone, iPad) $0.99
A 2D puzzle level stands between a panda and his love, and it’s up to you to help him traverse deadly spikes and endless drops. In order to get him to her, though, you’ll need to shoot him out of various cannons, some of which spin or move. It’ll test your timing and planning abilities to get your panda through each cannon to the far side of the level.
Also scattered throughout each stage are three gold coins that you’ll need to snag as quickly as possible to maximize your score. Land-a Panda also includes great cute cartoon graphics that’ll keep you engaged as you push through the game’s many puzzle levels.
Gunner Galaxies (iPhone, iPad) Free
Your chicken spaceship is being bombarded by asteroids, and it’s your job to blast them clear and rack up points and coins along with it. The more rocks you take out, the more points you earn over 25 different missions. Accuracy is the way to get the highest score and the most money and upgrades you can, but it won’t be easy.
Oobviously you’ll need firepower to shoot that many dangerous spacerocks and keep your ship safe — but Gunner Galaxies has you covered, because it includes more than 120 upgrades you can make to keep your ship in top shape. You’ll also have access to 140 different achievements you can earn, which will keep you busy for a while.
