Fresh iPhone Games for Dec. 21: Infinity Blade & Angry Birds HD updates, ZombieSmash HD

We’ve got a couple of big updates for our Fresh iPhone Games list today, including one to the massively popular and high-grossing Infinity Blade. Check it out — and get the scoop on a big update for Angry Birds on iPad — in our list below.

Infinity Blade update (iPhone, iPad) $5.99

Not even two weeks after the release of the most graphically impressive app on the iPhone, ChAIR Entertainment has released all kinds of new content to expand your sword-fighting, vengeance-seeking, God-King-battling experience.

The free update includes a bunch of new weapons to collect, including a new suit of armor, more weapons, and a Christmas-themed helmet. There’s also a new enemy worked into the mix of the various battles you have to take on using the game’s gesture and touch control battle system, that pits you one-on-one against huge enemies in a fight to the death. If you haven’t checked out Infinity Blade, you now have even more incentive to do so.

Angry Birds HD update (iPad) $4.99

The highest-selling game in the App Store has been updated on the iPad, adding 15 new levels and a new theme to the already extensive number of pig-smashing stages offered by the app.

If you don’t know about Angry Birds, here’s a quick rundown: you control the birds, who are angry. They’re angry at pigs who have stolen their eggs. The pigs are hiding in structures, and the birds want to destroy them, using a slingshot and one another to blast through the walls and score points. Players use physics and strategic planning to earn the top score possible in each stage, with as few birds fired at the pigs as possible. There are already 210 stages to think your way through; now Chillingo is offering even more to do, at no extra cost.

ZombieSmash HD (iPad) $2.99

Zombies are coming, and you’ve got to defend your house from their onslaught in this castle defense-style game. You use touch controls to throw, smash or blast the zombies and survive each stage. We’ve already seen ZombieSmash on the iPhone, but now iPad players have a chance to experience the zombie apocalypse first-hand.

The game features three different play modes — campaign, survival and sandbox — plus 25 weapons for you to use in your defense mission. ZombieSmash also features several bonus levels and Game Center support for achievements and online leaderboards.
