Need a midweek refresh on your groceries? Start with ZipList, an app that allows you to create grocery lists online and sync them with your iPhone, so you always know exactly what you need. When you’re done shopping, share the experience through social networking app Nostalgiqa. Then unwind with vertical shooter game, Hypership Out of Control, which will have you dodging obstacles in a desperate bid to survive on your runaway space ship.

ZipList (iPhone, iPad) Free

Save your grocery lists at home and access them on the fly via your iOS device with ZipList. The app is designed to keep you in tune with what’s needed in your fridge, even if you’re not there to take a look inside. ZipList syncs with your account at ziplist.com using a Wi-Fi or 3G connection. The list can be accessed by any member of your family, which means you can get updates while you’re out so you know exactly what you need, or you can send updated lists to family members while they’re on their shopping trips.

ZipList supports attaching notes and photos to your lists, and it has a database of a couple hundred thousand products so you can be sure to get the correct brand on your list along with exact quantities. You can also use your iOS device’s camera to scan barcodes and add exact items to your lists.

Nostalgiqa (iPhone, iPad) $0.99

I know, you’re thinking: “Great, another social network.” And yes, Nostalgiqa is another place to post your text and photos for others to see – but instead of focusing on what you’re doing as you’re doing it, Nostalgiqa is about building memories. You’ll combine elements together, like photos, text and video, that capture important moments in your life.

Allowing other people to see the seminal occurrences and the things from your past that you think are important will allow them to learn more about you – and you about them – than simple status updates about what you had for dinner. You can search for other users and see what other people have posted, as well as start your own nostalgic online album from within the app.

Hypership Out of Control (iPhone, iPad) $0.99

Your spaceship is careening through space without any spacebreaks in Hypership Out of Control, a vertical shooter in which you need to use your guns and your reflexes to steer clear of danger. In each of the game’s waves, you’ll come up against structures, enemy fighters, asteroids and lots of other obstacles that you can shoot your way through (and a few you can’t). The more stuff you blast out of your way, the more points you earn.

Along the way, you’ll also need to snag power-ups along the way in Hypership Out of Control, which will upgrade your weapons, cut your speed and generally make it easier for you to escape and stay alive as long as possible. The game also includes support from Game Center for achievements and leaderboards, as well.
