Grab three new free apps to start your week with today’s Fresh Apps list. VoxOx is a sort of Voice Over Internet app that gives you options for texts, calls and faxes your iPhone otherwise couldn’t handle; Onavo helps you monitor and even minimize your data usage to save you money; and Slayer brings you everything you need to know, see and hear about the uber-popular metal band.

VoxOx (iPhone) Free

VoxOx is a Voice Over Internet phone app that combines VoIP and traditional calling to give you additional options for your texts and calls, all while keeping them cheaper than a traditional phone plan. It includes features like the ability to receive SMS text messages for free and email copies of transcripts, create alternate phone numbers, change your caller ID and transfer calls.

There are a lot of handy things you can do with VoxOx. The app syncs with a VoxOx desktop application to give you full control over of your account and other functions on your computer, and lets you conference with up to 20 people. It even receives faxes and lets you view them on your phone.

Onavo (iPhone, iPad) Free

Data usage on an iPhone or iPad can get expensive. Onavo purports to help with that. Once you’ve installed the app, it runs in the background and funnels your data signals off to the company’s cloud-based software, where it “compresses” your data usage. Instead of using 100MB per month, Onavo can squeeze your usage down to much less, saving you money on your monthly bill.

Onavo also gives you a rundown of your data usage. You’ll get monthly data reports that shows you what apps and services you use the most data on, allowing you to figure out where you use the most data and how to budget better.

Slayer (iPhone, iPad) Free

Metal mega-group Slayer has a new mobile app that’s bursting with information about the band. It includes info about the bands tour dates and news about the members, allowing you to keep up to date with everything that’s going on with Slayer at any given time.

Slayer’s app includes exclusive content that can only be found in one place, as well as music from every Slayer album and videos about the band. You can even connect with other fans using Facebook through the app.
