Grab SkyView for free — it’s today’s top Fresh App, and uses your iPhone’s augmented reality capabilities to map the night sky, show you celestial bodies and constellations, and give you all kinds of information about them with just a quick tap. Ever look at the night sky and wonder what constellations or planets you might be seeing? SkyView is here to help with that. It uses your iPhone’s various technologies to figure out your location and map the sky you’re looking at using your iPhone’s camera. By moving your phone around and tapping stars you see marked on the screen, you can get information about different celestial bodies in your view.

SkyView’s augmented reality pipes in all kinds of information to your iPhone about astronomy. Aim your iPhone at the sun or the moon and get information about where they’ll move in a given day, and move your camera over constellations and the app draws them into their locations.
