KP Locator (iPhone, iPad) Free

For members of Kaiser Permanente’s health insurance, KP Locator is designed to help find nearby participating medical facilities. You can use your iOS device’s GPS technology or drop in a zip code to find all kinds of services, including from pharmacies to hospitals, within 250 miles.

Your results get dropped on a Google Map and you can then get directions to whatever you need to go. You can also save facilities you like or use often to a favorites menu so you can find them easily again, and KP Locator provides you with all the contact information you might need for the facilities as well.

DealStar (iPhone, iPad) Free

DealStar makes it easy to find deals around your area without a lot of effort. The app aggregates lots of deal-finding services into one place and gives you access to them through the app – and all of them makes finding local deals quick and easy using your iDevice’s GPS technology.

The app currently is integrated with five deal-finding services, with more promised to be added in the future. It also includes some search features so you can look for something specific in your area without a lot of hassle.

Connectrode (iPhone, iPad) $0.99

On the surface, Connectrode is a fairly simple puzzle game. You choose your difficulty level at the outset of the game and then you are launched straight in, where you’ll have a grid covered in colored microchips with faces. You’ll receive a series of colored chips to place around the grid, the idea being to link one colored face-chip to another of the same color. When you link two sets of chips, they disappear from the grid.

The challenge comes in where you place your chips. Chips can’t be moved through one another, so if you wall off a section of the grid, you won’t be able to place chips there until you make a hole. It makes for some strategic puzzle gameplay. Connectrode packs four difficulty levels and saves your scores locally.

Aww, Eggplant!? (iPhone, iPad) $0.99

Taking a page from Fruit Ninja, Aww, Eggplant!? is about violence perpetrated against vegetables rather than fruits. Veggies fly across the screen horizontally, giving you the opportunity to shoot them with skewers for your cookout. The goal is to skewer as many veggies as possible and to make combinations to score points, but avoid eggplants, because they’re gross. Also they reduce your point totals.

Each level in Aww, Eggplant!? has a set score goal for you to achieve, which goes up over time. It’s also an addictive and funny title, with the cartoonish veggies often screaming in horror and with themed stages, like one involving pirates and another with zombies. Achievements and leaderboards are provided by Game Center.
