Articles – The Wikipedia App update (iPhone) $0.99

Articles is designed to optimize Wikipedia for your iPhone, making the online encyclopedia’s content available with a mobile-compatible layout and easy to browse. The app allows you to search through Wikipedia articles by typing in terms, or flip to a random article to increase your knowledge by shaking your iDevice.

A big new update to Articles has added a lot of functionality, but the biggest new feature is the ability to print Wikipedia using iOS 4.2’s AirPrint capabilities. There’s also a new Russian localization, and users can now mark articles to read in the future. Articles has gotten a whole lot of bug fixes to make it work better in general, as well.

Qpon Revolution (iPhone) Free

Another app for finding deals offered by local merchants, Qpon Revolution allows you to search through your favorite businesses for coupons, set them on your iPhone’s maps and redeem them through the app. Setting up your favorite businesses makes you a “VIP” for it, which gives you push notifications about new deals available there, and you can get your value just by showing the image of the coupon on your phone to the merchant from whom you’re buying.

Once you redeem your coupons, you can also use the app to snag Loyalty rewards at different merchants, which give you cool offers for shopping at certain places regularly. Qpon Revolution isn’t available in all areas, so check within this free app to see where it’s applicable, then start saving money and earning rewards.

Kinetic (iPhone) $0.99

Kinetic is an app used to make music, but rather than require you to do things like press buttons in time, you use the iPhone’s accelerometer to create notes and beats. Kinetic’s note-playing capabilities are determined by different bouncing balls impacting a wall, and you affect their tempo and other things by moving your iPhone in space.

In order to create larger songs, you can switch between “scenes” that will create different chord structures and note combinations. Different controls allow you to adjust the octave or the speed, and you can even turn on a virtual keyboard for more control.
