Fresh iPhone Apps for Apr. 28: 3D Music Player Pro, Lens•Lab, My Daily Journal

Today’s Fresh list is filled with apps to turn your iOS devices into something more than it is. Up first we have 3D Music Player Pro, an app that gives you better stereo sound out of your iPhone or iPad’s built-in speakers. Lens Lab helps teach its users a little bit about photography, and My Daily Journal turns your iPad into a diary. Keep scrolling and get the skinny on all three.

3D Music Player Pro (iPhone, iPad) $1.99

The makers of the niche 3D Music Player Pro believe sound quality on iOS devices isn’t exactly amazing, which is the where their app comes in. It works with your iPod music to create a “3D sound experience,” using software to replicate the stereo effect of multiple speakers. It comes with a lot of different controls and an equalizer that includes presets as well as full control of sound balance.

There are other controls within 3D Music Player Pro to adjust your sound experience. You can alter the speed of songs or even their pitch slightly, and 3D Music Player Pro also supports most iPod docks, visualizing the music you’re listening to on your device’s screen.

Lens•Lab (iPhone, iPad) $0.99

Whether you’re an amateur or an expert photographer, Lens Lab is a tool you can use. It uses your iOS device to simulate different camera lenses, demonstrating graphically how depth of field and field of vision changes as you change the hardware you’re using with a professional-grade camera. Lens Lab works for beginners, helping them to learn about photography, as well as professional-grade photogs.

You can interactively adjust scales on the app, giving you answers to “what-if” questions you might have about different lenses and adjustments. Lens Lab also incorporates augmented reality, overlaying labels and distances on your display to give you all the information you need.

My Daily Journal (iPad) $0.99

Turn your iPad into a diary or a password-protected notepad with My Daily Journal. With a clean interface that resembles a real paper-and-leather diary, the app lets you write using the device’s virtual keyboard and automatically saves your work. You can also set a password on the app so no-one can read your intimate thoughts.

My Daily Journal allows you full control of entry dates for everything you write, and also gives you the ability to share your writings using email. You can add photos to your entries, change the fonts you use for what you write and search through your entries quickly and easily.
