Surprisingly, Self-Hypnosis: What do you want to change, but haven’t? ($1.99) helped me relax after a long day at work.

Sometimes, I need a reminder to slow down and re-prioritize my life. And, I need more than a little push once in a while to keep me on track with healthy habits. This app does a great job of helping me to envision change.

Hypnosis in itself, is really more about finding a calm mental space to focus on your goals and not making your neighbor bark like a dog. (But I’d like that app, too.)

This app provides melodic voice instructions, background chime and the requisite light flashes. The imagery really is irrelevant, though, since to focus and envision change you need to lay back, relax and close your eyes.   Even though the app can become repetitive after a few uses, the $1.99 price tag is obviously more affordable than hiring a real hypnotist. And while it might not have quite the same impact as a proper hypnotist, you’ll get your money’s worth.
