Find foodie havens, download Zagat To Go

Zagat To Go iPhone app has turned out to be pretty helpful in my weekly quest.

Zagat is a very reputable name, so the editorial content found on the Zagat iPhone app is generally on point.  I have tried a couple of Zagat’s recommendations and would agree with its assessments so far.

There are a couple of different ways to access restaurants using Zagat’s iPhone app, which will run you $9.99.  The top-rated lists can help you find some of the best locations in your city of choice.  Filter options include food, decor and service to let you search by variables such as cost, ambiance and dietary preferences.

You can also make reservations at restaurants directly through this application, which is handy for weekends and impromptu get-togethers.  When visiting an unfamiliar city, I also find myself more apt to make reservations using this app, because I do not always know what to expect from a restaurant once I get there.

The only reservation I have with Zagat’s iPhone app is its GPS-based search results, which can be surprisingly narrow depending on your location.  If you are willing to travel even a few miles outside of your current GPS location, try a manual search on Zagat’s iPhone app in order to receive more search results that are still relevant to your needs.
