Just snap a picture of its label (whiskey is only supported right now) and it will help you find local availability of the item and compare prices from store-to-store.

Goal Defense (Free)

Appolicious user Revew_It brought this cool new tower defense game to our attention from Artmatics and Dynamic Pixels Ltd. Goal Defense is an action-packed title offering 40 fun levels and some great cartoon artwork. It offers a sports-oriented spin on the tower defense genre as you control a group of weakling athletes who have to defend a huge trophy from a parade of awful jocks.

Caricature Booth (Free)

Thanks to Appolicious user tylerweitzman for telling us about the iOS app Caricature Booth from the Hadar Weitzman Group. Submit a photograph directly through this app and a professional artist will create a caricature drawing from it. Each order costs $9.99 for a black-and-white drawn caricature face, or simply pay twice if you want two people or a color portrait.

TEETHING ($0.99)

Teething is a casual indie game from developer Jake William Robinson (metzopiano on Appolicious). It’s a nice throwback to vintage era video-games with its pixelated graphics and chiptunes music. How long can you keep your tooth healthy as endless amounts of candy pour down from above? Health restoring toothpaste, as well as a variety of power-ups granted by a tooth fairy, should help you along.

Appolicious user Sunder_Virapps introduced us to the cute and colorful Joomeez and Joomeez HD. Draw any shape, and it will magically come to life in 3-D. Enhance your newly created lifeform with extras and items and watch it interact with its environment. Each creature emerges with a different personality, mood and abilities, so there’s plenty of fun to be had here.

From Appolicious user audioxciterapp comes Audio Xciter and Audio Xciter Studio from Aphex, LLC. Appolicious user DoLphin brought Business Card Reader HD to our attention. From Shape Services (who also developed the popular IM+), this app offers instant business card recognition directly on your iPad. It recognizes business cards in a huge number of languages and transfers the data from them into the appropriate contact information fields in your iOS address book.

ScratchTones ($1.99)

Thanks to Appolicious user ccocca for suggesting iPhone app ScratchTones. From Graphixware LLC, ScratchTones is a mobile 4-track recording studio right in the palm of your hand. Musicians can lay down a track, play it back through headphones, and record up to three additional tracks. Then, a mixer board enables them to adjust track volume and pan, master volume, reverb and add equalization effects.

Cedric Bosson goes by the username twistandtrout on Appolicious and let us know about his charming iPad game for kids called Petite Frite. The happy and colorful world of Petite Frite offers kids multiple activities to enjoy including puzzles, matching tasks, musical theater and the ability for them to build their own creative landscape.

This free app works as an accompaniment to Facebook’s Events feature, allowing users to find all the events their friends are attending or planning to attend. Whether you’re looking for nearby events, or you want to create an event around what you’re currently doing, the app makes it easy to organize, share and promote them.

FX Photo Studio from macphun.com LLC is a popular photo-enhancement app which Appolicious user GalinaDi brought to our attention. FX Photo Studio offers an incredible 194 photo effects to help make your images even more awesome. Appolicious user MapXL lets us know about the iPad-only app World Atlas Pro. Using some high-definition mapping imagery offering great clarity, World Atlas Pro can display individual maps of every world nation which can be saved or printed easily. There is also a weather prediction utility, currency convertor and plenty of fast facts about every U.S. state complete with high-res images.
