Looking for some fresh arcade games? Download Discounts finds a couple of cool ones on sale today – a side-scrolling shooter that drops players into World War II, and another that lets you customize a battleship to take into naval engagements.

Victory Day (iPhone) $0.99 (was $1.99)

This is your basic side-scrolling shooter that pits players as either an American or Soviet soldier taking on a horde of enemy Nazis. If you’ve played a video game before, chances are you’ve played this one.

That’s okay though, because Victory Day has a few things going for it. Its cartoony yet violent art style is interesting to see in action, which adds another layer to the action. It’s a simple premise, though it has some depth, including things like boss fights, multiple levels and several weapons to break up the action.

Captain’s Fury (iPhone, iPad) $0.99 (was $1.99)

Another arcade combat title, Captain’s Fury is about using a battleship to destroy other battleships while rapidly dodging enemy fire and doing your best to ravage your enemy. It’s fast-paced and easy to pick up, but Captain’s Fury offers a lot of customization. You’ll spend time adding to your ship, making it faster or shoot farther, so that each of the game’s 10 levels feels rewarding and interesting.

BlogPress (iPhone, iPad) $0.99 (was $2.99)

The first thing you’ll notice about BlogPress, a mobile blogging tool, is the amount of features the little app includes. Not only is it compatible with most blogging services so you can write entries from anywhere, it also has a lot of integration with other services like Facebook, Picasa, Flickr, Twitter and YouTube. The app lets you upload video directly to your YouTube account and add it to a post at the same time, as well as upload multiple photos and geotag the whole thing while you’re at it.

If that wasn’t enough, the blog editor gives you a lot of customization. You can move elements around simply by touching them, allowing BlogPress to edit the HTML code to make the changes happen. And if you do want to mess with simple HTML yourself, the app can even do that, too.
