Welcome to Wednesday from Download Discounts, where we’ve got a free dual-stick shooter game for you to play in Minigore (although you should grab it now — we’re not sure for how much longer it’ll stay free) and a few other deals of the slightly less free variety. Read It Later is an app that lets you save articles you find on the Internet to be read later at your convenience, and TuneIn lets you browse through tens of thousands of radio stations all over the planet.

Minigore (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $0.99)

As far as two-stick shooters go, Minigore is a pretty great one. It’s not great because of the environments or the enemies, but rather for its big group of characters you can unlock and choose from when you go into battle. Several expansions are available through in-app purchase.

With the release of Minigore’s latest update, dubbed Episode 4, the game introduced more characters and a cooperative multiplayer mode that allows you take on monsters with a friend. There are multiple areas to visit and fiends to dispatch along the way, so snag this one while it’s free.

Read It Later Pro (iPhone, iPad) $0.99 (was $2.99)

One of my favorite apps on my iPhone is Read It Later Pro, an app that makes your iPhone an extremely useful tool for reading things you find on the Internet. By adding a widget to the bookmark bar of your browser, you can instantly save an article you’re reading for later. Read It Later saves the article, both in its web page form and as a more streamlined text-only document, into a queue tied to your account.

READ  Highlight has buzz and backing, but will it change the way you use social networks?

Later, whether you’re away from a computer or somewhere mobile, you can access your Read It Later queue. You can pull up web pages you’ve found but haven’t had a chance to read on your iOS device, plowing through your Internet reading while you’re waiting in line or otherwise detained and bored. It’s an extremely handy system and a great one if you are constantly trying to keep up with all the interesting things you see online, but don’t have time to read in the moment.

TuneIn Radio (iPhone) $0.99 (was $1.99)

Never get stuck listening to a boring radio station again with TuneIn Radio. It scours stations across the country to come up with 40,000 you can live stream straight over your iPhone and listen to any time. TuneIn lets you browse by your location and what’s near you, and you can search by keyword, artist or song.

TuneIn has a few other cool tricks up its sleeve, as well. You get an alarm clock when you get TuneIn, and you’ll also have the ability to pause and rewind live radio broadcasts for a bit while you listen, just like TiVo on your TV. There’s a laundry list of other features, but suffice it to say, if you’re a fan of radio, this is an app you’re going to want to start downloading.
