We’ve got a lineup of free apps for you to help get you through the early part of the week. Start with Puff Puff, a game in which you pinch and stretch your iDevice’s touchscreen to inflate and deflate a puffer fish as you guide him through the dangerous oceans. Strimko Gold is great for puzzle fans, especially those familiar with sudoku, and VectorPro can help make life easier for artists who use technology alongside pens and brushes.

Puff Puff (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $0.99)

There’s a big ocean out there, and a puffer fish needs energy to make his way through it. You’re tasked with helping the puffer make his way, dodging coral reefs and sharks and pursuing urchins to keep your strength up. You control your fish with a combination of touch and tilt controls: tilting moves you forward and back on the continually side-scrolling screen, while pinching and stretching inflates and deflates your fish, causing him to float and sink in the water.

Puff Puff puts you in a survival mode to see how many points you can rack up and how long you can survive. The longer you live, the more points you rack up, allowing you to nail a higher spot on the online leaderboards provided by OpenFeint — along with achievements to show off to your OpenFeint friends.

Strimko Gold (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $1.99)

Sudoku fans, you’ll want to take a look at Strimko Gold. The game is all about logic puzzles, in which you need to plug numbers into different “streams” that run in various directions without repeating them. The game packs 300 different number puzzles in the vein of sudoku, which require you to think logically about which numbers can go in which positions without doubling-up in rows, columns or connected streams.

Puzzles are hand-crafted by other humans and all carry unique solutions, and as they grow more difficult, they also increase in size. Strimko carries four different game modes, as well as OpenFeint support to track your progress in the game’s online leaderboards. You can also use your logical puzzle-solving skills to earn achievements.

VectorPro (iPhone, iPad) Free ($2.99)

Graphic designers and artists will get a kick out of handy VectorPro, which quickly turns the photos and images on your iPhone or iPad into vector images that can be saved and downloaded from your phone to your computer. Once you’ve done that, you can open your shiny new vectors in a graphics program and edit your photos.

VectorPro is even cooler if you use it on hand-drawn images. It quickly converts your drawings to vectors so you can edit them on your computer as easily as you would by hand. If you’re always on the lookout for new images that could be handy for art or design, VectorPro is a must-download, especially for free.
